Israel has reportedly targeted Iran’s Intelligence Minister, Esmail Khatib, according to Israeli media. However, there has been no official confirmation of the strike so far.
It also remains unclear whether Khatib was killed. Initial reports suggest that the extent of damage from the alleged Israeli airstrike is still being assessed.
In 2022, the United States imposed sanctions on Khatib, accusing him of involvement in cyberattacks and human rights violations. He has been described as a key figure in Iran’s intelligence operations and allegedly linked to several controversial activities.
Earlier, on Monday night, Israel targeted senior Iranian officials, including security figure Ali Larijani and Basij commander Gholamreza Soltani, both of whom were reportedly killed in the attack.
